Important Update:
Change in Notice Period for Repeat Prescriptions
Dear Patients,
We hope this newsletter finds you well. At Park Medical Centre, we are committed to providing you with the highest standard of care and ensuring that our services run smoothly and efficiently. In light of increasing demand and to better manage patient expectations, we are making an important change to our repeat prescribing process.
New Notice Period for Repeat Prescriptions:
Effective from 1st April 2025, we are asking all routine repeat prescription requests to be submitted 5 working days before medication is due. This is a change from the previous 2 days’ notice period.
Why the Change?
Increased Demand: With a growing number of patients, the demand for repeat prescriptions has risen significantly. Extending the notice period allows us to manage this demand more effectively.
Safety: before signing a request, clinicians must check that is safe to do so. There is a lot of work behind the scenes. Often patients need to be recalled for a blood test or a medical review. Having extra time allows us to assess requests thoroughly and arrange reviews when required
Efficient Processing: The additional time ensures that our team can process requests thoroughly, reducing the risk of delays and ensuring your medication is ready when you need it.
Enhanced Patient Experience: By planning ahead, we can provide a smoother, more reliable service.
